Story 16 - Memorial for our 104 War Dead

On the 16 October 1986, a memorial stone was laid at Malaya Barracks, Holsworthy (Sydney), NSW, by 104 Signal Squadron past and present members to honor the mates we lost in South Vietnam .   The memorial stone was unveiled by the first Commanding Officer of 104 Signal Squadron, Lt Col. D. I. Godden.

104 Sig Sqn as part of another Army re-organisation was moved to Robertson Barracks, Palmerston, 20km to the South of  Darwin (NT)  and in late in 1999, the memorial was moved to Palmerston and is now proudly located at at the front of 104 Signal Squadron.   104 Signal Squadron under the Army re-organisation is no longer an independent Squadron but now an operational squadron of the 1st Combat Signal Regiment (1CSR).
