APC Callsign "Tango Alpha 84B"
was hit by a RPG round at about 1025hours, 12 June 1971. The RPG
round hit the top edge of the APC and glanced off into an large ammo liner
(mini-gun belted ammo). The liner contained more then a dozen
claymore mines and the lot blew up. The blast KIA five D&E platoon,
HQ Coy, 1 ATF diggers, three D&E diggers were WIA, one seriously.
The APS crew commander and driver were also KIA.
